The Basics
Trivia Poker combines poker betting with trivia questions. Answer correctly to win the pot!
Game Flow
- Big Blind: One player posts the big blind (rotates each round)
- Pre-Trivia Betting: Raise, call, check, or fold
- Hint: A hint for the upcoming question is revealed
- Post-Hint Betting: Another round of betting
- Question: The trivia question is displayed
- Answer: All active players submit their answers
- Results: Pot is split among correct answerers
Betting Actions
- Check: Pass without betting (only if no bet to call)
- Call: Match the current bet
- Raise: Increase the bet
- All-In: Bet all your remaining chips
- Fold: Forfeit your bet and sit out the round
Side Pots
When a player goes all-in for less than the current bet, a side pot is created. The all-in player can only win the main pot (what they contributed to). Other players compete for the side pot with their additional bets.
Winning
If you answer correctly, you split the pot with other correct answerers. If everyone folds, the last remaining player wins. If no one answers correctly, bets are refunded proportionally. All-in players can still answer questions and win pots!
Hold'em Trivia Mode
An alternate mode that plays like Texas Hold'em with a trivia twist. Selectable when starting a game (it doesn't replace Classic).
- Hole cards: You get 2 personal cards.
- Flop: 3 shared community cards are dealt to everyone — no trivia needed.
- Turn & River: Everyone gets the same trivia question. Answer correctly to receive that community card. Answer wrong and you don't get it and lose one random card (from your hand or community). You may also decline to answer — safe, but you gain nothing.
- Betting: A poker betting round happens on every street (preflop, flop, turn, river).
- Showdown: Make your best 5-card hand from the cards you still hold. Best hand wins the pot.
